A district (Zilla) is an administrative division of an Indian state or territory.There are 671 districts in India now. There were a total of 640 districts in India in 2011. Twenty Eight States and Seven Union Territories span the length and breadth of the Country, marked by diversity in culture and geography but bound together by a common chord of Nationalism. Districts in India are administered by their respective State/UT Government.
